Arijana Bogdanovich - Ticketing/Documents/Admin

Arijana hails from a small town, Hrvatsko Zagorje, about 40km from the capital of Croatia, Zagreb.  And after she finished school, she went to college to do a degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management.
“I’ve always been interested in different cultures and languages,” she says, “and as part of this course, I got to study English, French and German.”

After she finished her degree, Arijana secured a job with a travel agency in Zagreb, mainly booking holidays for Croatians. “I loved everything about it,” she says. “Booking cruises, using the reservations system, meeting the clients and researching destinations. The great thing about working in this industry is that you are learning something new every day.”

After two years working in the travel agency, Arijana’s husband, Tony, got a job in Dublin and Arijana decided to follow him over to Ireland. Arijana was sorry to leave her friends and family in Croatia but she was also excited at the prospect of living in a completely new country and she’s adapted well to life in Ireland. Within two months of arriving, she started working with The Travel Broker and despite there being big differences between Ireland and Croatia; she’s really enjoying her new life.

“Clients in Ireland are more open to suggestions than Croatians,” she says. “I would say that they are more adventurous and willing to try new destinations. The Travel Broker is a great place to work too. My colleagues are very supportive and we all share our knowledge, which is to everyone’s advantage. They’re a great bunch and that’s really important for me because I’m still getting used to the Irish way of doing things!”
